GOOGLE'S DECISION REGARDING CHINA: A LESSON FOR ALL OF US It's hard to miss the news that Google decided to stop censoring information in China this week according to the requirements of the Chinese government. This issue became big for them after their site was hacked late last year and information was stolen from them. That hack job appears to have been someone in the Chinese government looking to get information from the emails of the Chinese activists. From the point of view of our cycles, Google is playing the role of the Sun in Aries, a highly-respected leader in their field. The Chinese government is playing the role of Pluto in Capricorn, a powerful organization that is determined to have control. The Sun in Aries is square to Pluto in Capricorn now, signifying major power struggles and control issues. You may have encountered them at your own work or home situation as well.Google's decision is significant on several fronts. First, they chose to take the other path and follow their hearts and principles, leaving behind plenty of money on the table. (Sun trine Mars, the other path I mentioned in last week's email update about the Spring Equinox energies) Essentially they're saying the money isn't worth it if they have to leave their principles behind. One of the co-founders of Google, Sergey Brin, was born in Russia and experienced first hand the totalitarian energies there that he again meets in China. But this time the tables are turned. He's in a position where he doesn't have to knuckle under and not even a lot of money makes it worth it for him to do so. This is the mark of an exalted leader, the Sun in Aries, choosing to take a better path. We've been expecting the social changemakers to show up now and here they are! They're telling you the game is changing, because they're not playing the old one any more. There has to be more than money for the bottom line to make sense. Sure, there are plenty of business people still shaking their heads and wondering why Google would do such a thing. That's because they don't yet understand the revolution that's occurring this year. And we can now see that Google will be one of the revolutionary leaders. One of the big issues that Google identified in this situation is that other countries are starting to mimic China and start censoring the internet. Google is basically drawing their line in the sand. This is a big issue, bigger than you may imagine, and it's one that will be played out through at least 2017 and possibly as long as 2020. Part of the revolution we're starting this year will be about freedom, and who gets to control access to the distribution of information. The powerful corporations that control Congress and the White House also control our access to information via newspapers, radio, and television. The internet changed that and those powerful organizations are not happy about it. They'll do what they can to take back and consolidate their power. Only the people and change-maker organizations like Google can stop this. In the long run, Google will make more money by choosing to stick with their principles. They and other companies and individuals like them are creating the new economy. This is a collaborative effort that's occurring and it's about to come to a head this summer.
