MERCURY RETROGRADE BEGINS THIS FRIDAY This Friday, August 20th, we enter the Mercury retrograde zone and we'll be in it through September 12th! Does it sound ominous? This period certainly has its pitfalls, but it doesn't have to be challenging. If we will simply adjust our expectations and temporarily reorient ourselves it will be a LOT easier.The Universe wants us to SLOW DOWN and use this period to rethink, redo and fix things. This is the time for us to catch-up with all those to-do items that are way overdue and fix our mistakes. It's the perfect time to learn something by fixing those mistakes or by taking classes, workshops, or training programs. It's also the perfect time to recycle old items you no longer need by either donating them or having a garage sale. It's a great time to reconnect with people you haven't seen in awhile. And it's a terrific time to look back and review things, historically, or more recently, to gain a better perspective, and perhaps remake some decisions. It's also fabulous for cleaning things, reorganizing, and improving our homes and offices. All that is to say that it's NOT the right time to push forward in our normal mode at 90 mph. If you attempt to continue down your normal path, you'll be stopped or seriously delayed. The Universe has little patience with our imprudence. Whether we continue down our normal path out of ignorance or for other reasons has little to no impact on how the Universe responds. It treats us to computers, printers, faxes, phones and emails that don't work. Our cars stop working or we're stuck in very slow traffic. Our planes may not take off, or we miss our next flight or our luggage misses it. We have lots of miscommunications. Mistakes show up, and most of them must be fixed immediately. Often this precipitates the feeling that Murphy and his crew have arrived to take up residency. I recommend a different strategy instead. Start by reorienting yourself to catching up. Don't start any new projects, sign contracts, or begin other forms of new starts. The reality is that you don't understand your needs at this point and if you sign a contract or begin a new project, you'll be doing so under wrong assumptions. You won't fully understand your needs until Mercury retrograde is over, so wait until after that date to begin new projects. Make life easier on yourself by scheduling only 50% of what you normally schedule. That allows you enough time to catch up and also easily handle those mistakes that will need fixing. Just not having to completely reschedule your calendar in order to do so will eliminate a lot of frustration. And when those mistakes show up, let go of our cultural insanity that "we should never make mistakes if we're competent." How else can we learn? Life would be pretty boring if we already knew everything. So thank the Universe for bringing those mistakes to your attention, so you could learn something new. This particular Mercury retrograde especially wants us to review all details and double-check our analyses. That's because that infamous "devil is in the details." Those details are likely to make all the difference in the world to your assumptions and their consequences. So check them out closely. There's a high probability that they're incorrect. ______________________________________________ OUR ECONOMIC LOW IS HERE On Monday, August 16th, we had the first of two peaks for one of two cycles that indicates an economic low (Jupiter opposite Saturn). We had the other economic low cycle last year (North Node in Aquarius) and we moved past it in late August 2009. This cycle will stay in range now through through September 15th. Then it comes back into range on March 6, 2011, and stays in range through April 19, 2011.This is one of the indicators that we're likely to see the economy dip again, especially since this cycle returns in March. But it's also good news, because after this is over, we have nowhere to go but up! So we're getting closer to getting past this, but we're not quite there yet. Remember that the choices we make as a nation now will determine the severity of the challenges ahead. If we can address the debt issues on all levels of the economy, we'll start to make major progress in cleaning up this mess and creating a sustainable economy that nurtures and supports all of us. ______________________________________________NOW SHIPPING 2011 GOOD TIMING GUIDES Did you pre-order the 2011 Good Timing Guide?
