THE US DOLLAR AND GOLD Have you been wondering if you should sell your gold and invest in US dollars instead? The short answer is NO, but here's the explanation. To some extent, the sovereign debt problems of the euro, are a bit like the old joke of two campers who awake in the middle of the night to find a bear outside their tent. One of the campers races to put on his shoes, while the other one tells him that he can't out run a bear. The first camper replies, "Who needs to outrun a bear? I only need to outrun YOU!" So the US dollar looks good now in comparison to the euro, but not for long.Here's an example of what the US government owes in broad strokes (From Uncommon Wisdom's, Larry Edelson):
Grand total of U.S debts: $136 TRILLION. Even if you leave out the next ten years and health care reform, it's still $126 TRILLION. Back in May 2005, (only 5 years ago) USA Today reported that this total was $53.6 TRILLION back then. Essentially these obligations have more than doubled in just 5 years. (We're in the vertical portion of a hockey stick or J - curve) Do you really think that's going to get paid back? Even my 90 year-old mother would tell me to "wake up and die right" at the mere suggestion!Larry Edelson (http://www.uncommonwisdomdaily.com) says that even if the US government could pay back $100 million per day, starting now, that it would still take 3450 years for the government to pay off all it's debt and obligations (for the $136 trillion). So let's get real. Even if I wasn't an astrologer looking at the USA and Federal Reserve charts, I would tell you to get out of the US dollar and get into gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper, aluminum or tin. ANY metal would be better than the US dollar. As I've mentioned before, the US government and the Federal Reserve have only one tool in their tool box and it's to devalue the US dollar, so that they pay back this deficit with dollars that aren't worth so much. They do this by printing more and more dollars and in the last several years they've devalued the dollar by over 30%. Their only other choice is to default.Now how much longer do you think we have before the US government finally cries "UNCLE" and defaults on its Treasury bonds? My best astrological guess is April 2014, but it could happen sooner, or even as late as March 2015. This is why I have written so extensively about the Federal Reserve's negative impact on our dollar. It's about to help us bankrupt the country. All of this is headed for some type of culmination this summer, when both the USA Venus (representing banking and the US dollar) and the Federal Reserve's charts are headed into major, and unprecedented challenges. Although the euro is also headed into the frying pan, be aware that investors are likely to wake up to the reality that the US debts cannot get paid back. And they are likely to do so this summer. On just the opposite track, gold is now in it's usual slow season, when it typically drops in price during the summer months. But come fall, gold is likely to take off like a rocket when we hit the Venus retrograde (Red Contracts) during October and November. How far can the price of gold go? It depends on how the federal government handles this sovereign debt crisis. If they ignore it until it crashes, then gold could go to $5000 per ounce. If they create an orderly decline to the dollar, then probably gold will top out around $2300 per ounce. Something in- between could yield $3000 per ounce or higher. You can buy gold and other metals through Electronically Traded Funds, like GLD or IAU. You can also buy metal index funds like (these are recommended by Larry Edelson): Tocqueville Gold Fund (TGLDX) U.S. Global Investors World Precious Minerals Fund (UNWPX) U.S. Global Investors Gold and Precious Metals Fund (USERX) And of course you can buy gold coins like American Eagles or Canadian Maple Leafs. Plus you can buy mining stocks. I usually don't recommend these, because you're buying a lot more than the metal when you do so, but it's another possibility.Now how much gold or other metals should you have in your portfolio? Larry Edelson says up to 25%. These are unusual times we're in and the standard rules of investing are stretched. Whatever you do, don't believe that you're buying gold at it's high. If you look at the high for gold in inflation-adjusted terms, the high for gold in 1980 was the equivalent of $2300 now. There is plenty of room for gold to go up in price and to protect your wealth as it does so. Lastly, I am often asked if I believe that the US government will make it illegal to own gold again and force people to turn it into the government as it did before? My answer remains the same: What the government could get away with back then in the 1930s, it cannot do today. We'd have another revolution! So protect your wealth and get some gold or other metals into your portfolio. ______________________________________________ FINISH DEEP CLEANING BY JULY 20TH We're down to the finish line folks! Next Wednesday, July 21st, Saturn moves into the sign of Libra, where it will stay for two years. So it's very important while Saturn is still in the sign of Virgo (the sign that believes cleanliness is next to godliness) to get as much of those onerous, deep cleaning jobs done. You know the ones I'm talking about. You've probably been put them off for the last two years! Now why is it important to do this? Won't that cleaning wait? After all, it's probably been waiting for months or years! Here's why and believe me, this is more important than you may realize.1) The more you use this opportunity to clean out closets, drawers, cupboards, filing cabinets, boxes, garages, storage units, etc., the more you will have new and unexpected opportunities that "pop out of the woodwork" this summer (Jupiter and Uranus conjunct in Aries). 2) Once Saturn moves into the sign of Libra on July 21st, where it will immediately be involved in multiple major challenges all at once, there won't be time to do this stuff. A LOT of changes and challenges will hit the fan at the same time, leaving no time for cleaning out old junk, clutter, etc. 3) So if you don't get stuff cleaned out by next Tuesday, July 20th, (while the energies are there to help you) you're likely to miss some amazing opportunities that could come to you this summer.Just choose to clean up your worst mess, your most onerous task that you've avoided for several months or even the past two years. I've been warning you about this for awhile and I hope you've been working on this. If so, congratulations and expect those opportunities to appear soon. ______________________________________________ THE CONSCIOUS CONVERGENCE JULY 17-18th Next March, the Mayan Calendar enters it's final period of transforming consciousness. In the Mayan calendar, this is known as the Universal Underworld and it only lasts 260 days. Essentially we'll do the same amount of transformation in those 260 days as we're now doing in the 12.8 years prior to that time. And we're now doing the same amount of transformation in these 12.8 years as we did in the previous 254 years. Get the picture? Next year, not one, but NINE Mayan calendars will complete and this Saturday and Sunday, we have an opportunity to prepare for this unprecedented situation. The purpose of these nine calendars completing together next year is to create unity consciousness. In the words of Carl Johan Calleman, who wrote the book, The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness,: "Unity consciousness does not mean conformism or that everyone is shaped in the same mold to think or look alike. Rather, unity consciousness will generate a world that is the very opposite to conformist. Because unity consciousness is about transcending the judgmental dualities and inherent dominance mentality generated by lower waves it allows for a much wider variety of viewpoints and life styles than previously.
