SLOW MOTION FINANCIAL DISSOLUTION Do you remember the info I sent you last week about money dissolving between then and August 5th? Last week we had two announcements that I thought really showed this situation. First Merrill Lynch announced a write-down of $30 billion of mortage-related securities. They basically sold them for 22 cents on the dollar. This now puts pressure on all the other financial firms and banks to offload the collaterized debts on their balance sheets by selling them for a lot less than their book value today. Talk about money disappearing! The second event was that General Motors announced a $15.5 billion loss for the QUARTER! How many more quarters do you think GM will be with us at that rate? The fate of General Motors can be argued both ways. It's true they have done this to themselves. They could have followed the Japanese with hybrid small cars and other options, but they didn't. Instead they stayed focused on gas guzzling trucks and SUVs long past the time they should have seen the writing on the wall. It's also true that over many years they bought up patents on engines and other technologies that would have cut the cost of fuel in half or less and ensured that these products never saw the light of day. So in a real sense, this company is reaping what it sowed. From a different perspective though, GM is like a micro-cosm of the economy. As this company fails and tries to right itself, the jobs that will be displaced may not come back. For every job that GM lays off, more people in retail and service industries will be laid off, because those unemployed people are not buying products or services. Notice that the people who will be laid off probably have little or nothing to do with the decisions that have led to this situation, especially in the retail and service sectors.This is the ripple effect of how our decisions and choices impact other people, even people we have never met. For this reason, we can only hope that the most benevolent outcome will occur and that GM will find a way to right itself quickly. August is one tough month for the financial markets and for other large company losses. Beginning August 5th/6th (depending on your time zone), Venus, the planet of money goes into the sign of Virgo, the sign where she's the least comfortable and does the least good financially. While she's there this month, she first conjuncts Saturn on August 13th. This combination is associated with scarcitiy and not enough money. We barely get out of that, when Venus trines Jupiter on August 16th. Wow! Some potential for abundance! However, this Jupiter is in it's worst sign too (Capricorn) and retrograde (moving backwards). This suggests that whatever abundance comes is delayed and probably not as much as expected, but at least it's something positive. From there Venus gets into one disaster after another. Next on August 23rd, she opposes Uranus, the planet of sudden and unexpected surprises, and in this case, very challenging surprises. Financially, this suggests getting blind-sided by something we're not expecting. This could be a stock market crash, but it could also be some other financial mess that shakes us up instead. Then finally after that, Venus squares Pluto on August 29th. This combination is associated with heavy debts that create major challenges. Well we're certainly seeing a taste of what lies ahead already with Merrill Lynch's $30 billion write-down. This could be news that more financial companies decide to sell their mortgage-related securities before they drop any further and just get rid of them. Or perhaps this is news about the Federal debts and how that is negatively impacting the US dolar. Whatever the situation, it isn't pretty. In fact, most of this month looks pretty challenging financially. So take some prudent precautions. Washington Mutual? Do you have deposits in Washington Mutual? If so, here's a warning. I checked this bank's corporation cycles recently. It's possible it might last until the end of this year. But it's also possible that the upcoming Lunar Eclipse on August 16th will be the last straw. It's true that even if the FDIC shuts it down, that all deposits up to $100,000 are insured, but it's also true that the FDIC has up to 6 months to pay you that money. If you have money in Washington Mutual, I recommend you start looking for a safe bank. Google "bank ratings" and start looking for something safer. ______________________________________________
THESE EXPLOSIVE ENERGIES AND YOU
I'm going to tell you a story that I witnessed in my own neighborhood related to the explosive energies of Mars -Uranus opposition. There was a wonderful dog in my neighborhood, an energetic and joyful malamute. Every time I took my walk past her home, she greeted me in utter delight. But lately she began looking sad and unhappy. She lost her spark and her energy. I didn't realize that she wasn't getting walked any more. Her owners hadn't trained her well and couldn't walk her easily (malamutes are very large dogs). They had hired someone at one time to walk her, but he had moved away and no one replaced him. Recently during these weeks of explosive energies, she became overwhelmed with the extra electrical energy that was running through her body (Mars opposite Uranus impacted her). She had no way to discharge it, since she wasn't getting any walks. She was simply chained up all day. Within one week she bit three people. So the dog was taken to the pound to be terminated. This was a tragedy and the owners realized it was their fault. I was heartbroken. I'm telling you this story because this type of
thing can happen to anyone during this cycle, not just a dog. You
can substitute the name of anyone you know, (friend, lover, child,
neighbor, co-worker, family member, etc) who is having a hard time
with these energies. Realize that if someone is acting cranky or
aggitated now, they probaby need extra exercise and attention to
release the build-up of these electrical energies out of their
body. Don't try to handle this with more restrictive measures.
Not only will that not do any good, it could cause a lot of harm.
Get some extra exercise
for yourself too. You can't repress these energies and they can be
dangerous, so take some extra precautions to deal with
